WERE THE WORLD MINE

Hello, New Yorkers!
I'd like to encourage you all to see a FANTASTIC new feature-length film that some good friends of mine made and it's playing here in NYC at Cinema Village. It's called WERE THE WORLD MINE and it's received RAVE reviews from the NYTimes and publications all over the country.
I can't say enough good things about the movie--please, take $10 and a couple of hours and see this touching, smart, inspired breath of fresh air.
Lucia :)

Happy Talk...

Folks,
I'm *happy* to announce that I'll be appearing in the Tony Award Winning South Pacific at Lincoln Center Theater in December for a few weeks filling in for the fantastic Liz McCartney. Specific dates to be announced later.

What a gift to be a part of this legendary production--if only for a little while!

Hope you're all enjoying the Fall! The trees in Central Park are unreal...

Back to the sun, back to the shore, back to what I was before...

... unemployed!

Yes, Legally Blonde will be closing on October 19th. I have LOVED every second of this show and I will be sad to let Enid go! Enid has been SUCH a blast and I've learned so much from her. I get about 30 more shows and I'm gonna eat 'em up!

For those of you who have been wanting to come, purchase your tickets now!

LEGALLY BLONDE!!

Hey, all!
Long time no post, I know. In case you haven't heard the news, I'm back on the Broadway with Legally Blonde as Enid the lesbian law student.
I'm having a blast with this ridiculously silly and talented company and a kick-in-the-pants of a role. Stop by the Palace and see us some night! I will post pics to the site soon.
Also, the site will be getting a major overhaul in the coming months... stay posted!

Livin' La Miserables...

Folks,
I am anything but miserable at Les Miserables. I'm brimming with joy! It's an amazing group of people--fun, laid-back, supportive. Makes a three-hour show fly by! Not to mention, I feel like I'm a part of theatrical history being fortunate enough to perform in this classic.
Many thanks for all the support that's been thrown my way--you keep me flying high.
Happy Fall!!

My Broadway D-E-B-U-T !!

I've finally made it to the great white way...! Let me say, I can't tell you too much about it because it was such a total out-of-body experience. It was completely surreal. Here I was doing the same makeup and hair, but in a different dressing room; the same dialogue but with different people; the same show, but in a different space. Crazy!
I have to say though, that the Broadway cast is so wonderful. On stage and off. They've been very supportive and a lot of fun. It's such a kick to work with the BROADWAY COMPANY! Cast, understudies, managment, crew--everyone. And so many of them have been doing this for years, and it's still so fresh and so real every night. I was moved watching it all this past week, and I was moved getting to actually work with them last night. I'm hoping I can let myself go a little bit more and thoroughly enjoy my time there with them. I never imagined that my theatre interests and endeavors would ever lead me to this magical place. But they have and it's beyond anything I could have thought of... so it's all very new territory to me. I'm not sure what to do with it all just yet! :)
Thank you to everyone who has shown their support to me during this very special time for me. Your calls, messages, flowers, treats and most of all your thoughts really carried me yesterday and will continue to keep me on cloud nine the whole time I'm here.

Making H-I-S-T-O-R-Y !

My alma mater, North Central College, is very proud. Apparently I'm the first alumni ever to perform in a Broadway theater... wee! So, there's a small profile of me on their website--if you go to their main page, there's a picture of me which will take you to the article. If my pic and the profile don't show up on the main page, you can go directly to the article by clicking here.
Thanks to all of the folks at NCC who've been so supportive of me over the years, most especially Jeordano Martinez, Rick Spencer, and Hal & Benna Wilde. GO CARDINALS!! :)

Remember... I make my BROADWAY DEBUT this week, October 19th-31st at Circle In The Square Theater with THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE... if you're around, please come see me!

Oh, say can you see us sing?

On August 7th, members of the BEE company sang the national anthem at the White Sox game. Sox lost. To the Angels, no less. Kind of an uneventful game, but we sure sang purrrty and they gave us some sweet seats right behind home plate! click here to see us.

100th show!

We just celebrated our 100th show tonight! That means Barfee has eaten 100 twinkies or other assorted pastries and we've had 400 audience volunteers... hard to imagine that many people have shared the stage with us. And we thank you all!

Harold Ramis and the BEE...

That's right, folks. Last night Harold Ramis performed with the Chicago BEE! The League of Chicago Theaters' Annual Gala was held at our theater, and we opened and closed the show for them. Avec Mr. Ramis who was not only the Emcee for the evening, but also a "guest speller" ... weeeee!!!!!!!!!

I feel like I'm finally back to "normal" life. We opened to great reviews and sold-out houses. It's a good time, with a good group of people who I like on-stage AND off-stage. A gift!

I'm definitely in the show through September 24th. So, get your tickets now!
